Daytime active wear for ideal adult orthodontics consists of a simple exercise: bite down and hold for about five minutes, and then relax for one minute. Repeat this exercise for a minimum of 20 minutes at a time, totaling 1 to 2 hours per day.

Ortho-T® can be worn during the commute to work or school, while reading, browsing the web or watching television.

Approximately once a month, your Ortho-Tain® doctor will schedule you for a progress check. During this time, any overbite and overjet can be measured to track progress. What results should you expect at each check up? Each month, at least one half millimeter of improvement is seen. Crowding of the lower teeth is usually corrected within just the first month!

As you see the dramatic changes in your smile with your appliance for adult orthodontics, your doctor will let you know how often you should be wearing the appliance. For about six months, the appliance is actively worn every other day for about an hour, and every night. Gradually, wearing your appliance will be reduced to every third night, and then to only one or two nights a week as your retainer.
